The Australian Sheep & Wool Show is an annual event held once a year, recognized as the largest sheep and wool show of its kind globally. It attracts up to 3,000 sheep representing more than 30 breeds from across Australia, alongside over 400 trade sites showcasing a wide range of products and services.
Exhibition Categories
The show features diverse categories including sheep competitions covering multiple breeds such as Merino, Dohne, and Black and coloured sheep, with highlights like the National Fleece competition and yard dog trials. It also includes shearing contests and dog trial competitions. The event hosts Australia’s largest fibre market with hundreds of retail stalls selling woollen clothing, machinery, and accessories. Additionally, lifestyle and culinary sectors are represented through the Festival of Lamb, cooking demonstrations, and the Arts and Craft Pavilion exhibiting woolcraft artistry. The Careers and Technology Hub focuses on ag-related education and innovation, supporting industry development and future talent. This comprehensive expo offers a unique blend of agriculture, fibre arts, food, and technology within the sheep and wool industry context.
